2019 Annual Progress Reports for Trent and Ganaraska Source Protection Plans

The Source Protection Committee has approved the 2019 Annual Progress Report on the Trent and Ganaraska Source Protection Plans which have been submitted to the Ministry. This progress report documents the achievements made thus far to implement Source Protection Plan policies which work to protect our local municipal drinking water sources. On June 8, 2020 the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks approved amendments to the Trent Source Protection Plan, Assessment Report and Explanatory Document. The amendment includes:

  • An expanded and revised water quality protection area around the new and existing wells of the Pinewood and Stirling drinking water systems
  • Updated source protection plan mapping

Notice of the amendment can be found on the Environmental Bill of Rights registry, ERO Number 019-1345.

The source protection authority completed the amendments in accordance with the legislative and regulatory requirements set out in the Clean Water Act, 2006 and Ontario Regulation 287/07(General).

The amendments take effect upon posting on the Environmental Registry.
