Commercial / Industrial Representative
The Trent Conservation Coalition Source Protection Committee was created according to Ontario Regulation 288/07 under the Clean Water Act. The Committee, as set out in the Regulation, is comprised of 24 members (plus the Chair): 7 municipal representatives; 7 economic sector representatives (agricultural, commerce, industry); 7 other representatives (e.g., public, environmental, etc.); and 3 First Nations.
The Trent Conservation Coalition Source Protection Committee is seeking a new representative for the Commercial/Industrial sector.
The role involves:
- Contributing positively to the updating and implementing of the Assessment Reports and Source Protection Plans for the Source Protection Region;
- Reviewing reports and materials (including scientific and technical reports) in advance of meetings;
- Providing constructive, collaborative and science-based input on local source protection planning issues;
Applicants should be prepared to make at least a 3 year commitment to participate on the Committee. The Source Protection Committee meetings usually occur 3 to 4 times a year. Members are expected to act as a liaison between the sector represented and the Committee by bringing forward common concerns from personal knowledge and experience. Members receive a per diem and mileage paid per meeting.
