The Trent Conservation Coalition held its semi-annual Drinking Water Source Protection Municipal Forum on March 8, 2019 at Baxter Creek Golf in Fraserville, ON. It was a great turnout with numerous municipalities and partners in attendance. The event, designed to assist with the implementation of the Trent and Ganaraska Source Protection Plans, featured numerous presentations and discussions pertaining to the successes, challenges and experiences from the last year of implementation, as well as a Q & A session with SPC Chair Jim Hunt, SPA Staff, and Mary Wooding, Source Protection Implementation liason at MECP. The Source Protection Program Coordinator is responsible for coordination of the Trent Conservation Coalition
(TCC) source protection program, in conjunction with TCC Conservation Authority partners and on behalf of
the TCC Source Protection Committee. Responsibilities include providing support to the source protection
committee, source protection plan updates and maintenance, providing support to plan implementers,

A new regulation under the Safe Drinking Water Act, took effect July 1, 2018. This regulation applies in source protection areas identified under the Clean Water Act and ensures that municipal residential drinking water sources are protected before drinking water can be provided to the public.
